The RealPractice Suite is based on a distributed architecture, and is a multi-tiered application that is highly suitable for integration into today’s rich web-service environments. RealPractice™ supports open standards, including XML and SOAP. Security is enabled through SSL (128 bit, SHA1, DES) encryption. RealPractice seamlessly integrates with many essential law firm technology systems, including Document Management Systems, Accounting and Financial Systems, SharePoint Portal Servers and legal content providers like Lexis-Nexis and WestLaw.
At the heart of the RealPractice Suite is the ACE™ (Abstract Creation Engine). The ACE systematically analyzes a firm’s accumulated work product, using proprietary algorithms to discern the legal issues, jurisdictions and document types pertaining to each discrete document in the collection. This information is collected in abstracts. The level of detail about each document that is automatically collected by the ACE enables RealPractice users to hone in on very specific documents from either private stores or the public domain. Complex, cross-indexed searches are conducted behind the scenes by the program, while users merely indicate the kind of document they wish to locate.
